In an effort to showcase real-world examples of operating buildings using artificial intelligence (AI), the NSF AI Institute in Dynamic Systems used Harvard HouseZero performance data in their latest Hackathon.
The Hackathon, which was part of a workshop conducted by the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems, was led by Na Li, Winokur Family Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University and Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities affiliated faculty member, and J. Nathan Kutz, the director of the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems and the Robert Bolles and Yasuko Endo Professor within the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington in Seattle. The workshop brought together members of the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems united in one goal: striving towards the continued development of teams and their work. The introduction to the HouseZero lab and its data-driven command and control was provided by Professor Ali Malkawi, Founding Director of the Center for Green Buildings and Cities.
