Discussion with Alberto Pototschnig: “The Integration of the Internal Energy Market in the EU”

alberto-pototschnig_cropThe Harvard Electricity Policy Group and the Harvard Environmental Economics Program are sponsoring a discussion with Alberto Pototschnig, the Founding Director of the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). Potoschnig, as the first director of ACER, established in 2010 by the European Commission, will offer his perspective on ACER’s mission to complement and coordinate the work of national energy regulators at the European-Union (EU) level and work towards the completion of a single EU energy market for electricity and natural gas. Specifically, Potoschnig will talk about the development of EU-wide network and market rules and ACER’s role in monitoring the functioning of gas and electricity markets in general, and of wholesale energy trading in particular.
