National Renewable Energy Laboratory Hosts Sustainable Design Challenge

The Department of Energy hosts twenty-eight teams from colleges in the United States and Canada at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado from April 26-28. Teams presented their zero energy home designs to panels of industry experts as part of a home design competition. Judges evaluated teams on their design and construction packages, project plans, and energy-saving strategies. The event is part of the Energy Department’s Building American Program, an effort to build a leadership movement to achieve truly sustainable homes.
